John Burns is a Sexy Beast!

June marked 50 years since the Stonewall riots, and I was so lucky to bring my show to the Duplex Cabaret Theatre next door.

Darryl Reiley of TheaterScene.net called me “a triumphant vision of gay pride.”

What an absolute blast it was to create and perform this show for World Pride 2019. Big thanks to The Duplex, Lennie Watts for directing, the incomparable Michael Holland for music direction. My husband Mike Teele and his help with the script and press! David Dreyfus and Jeff Hardy for writing the original song “Not That Kind of Gay” for me! Currently hoping to bring it back in the fall.

After his smash hit Don’t Call Me Shirley!  John Burns returns to the Duplex for a fabulous evening of laughs, songs and drinks.  He’s loud! He’s proud! He’s belting it out for the crowd!  Exploring his 50 years of pride from being a gay kid on a cattle ranch to an acclaimed cabaret star!  It is a feather and sparkle extravaganza with sweet sexy grooves, tender tunes of longing and pulsing gay anthems!
